A few highlight images from the Zattzoo Project Association annual Youth Battle of the Bands 2025. I was the primary / official photographer for this special event held on May 31 at the Kinsmen Community Centre (The KCC) to a crowd of 300 plus. There were eleven performances this year, all competing in front of three industry judges. This annual event awards several prizes for best vocals, bass, guitar, drums, wow moment, runner up and over all winner. This year the winner was Comox resident and hip hop artist Alick Mac. Alick also performed the year before at Battle 2024 and won the Wow Moment prize. Alick will now be playing at the Five Acre Shaker in Port Alberni on Saturday August 9 2025 as part of his winnings.  Other winners were Tristan Longman (Best Vocals - Port Alberni resident), Finn Coulson (Best Drums - Nanaimo based Heavy Metal Group Unholy Grail) Gray Krieger (Best Guitar - Sydney based trio Emergency Exit ), Bryce Northrop (Best Bass - Nanaimo based Two Ys Jazz Duet), Emergency Exit (Best Wow Moment and Runner Up awards), and Exit 30 
(Fan Favourite - Campbell River rock and roll band)

The Zattzoo Project Association is a charitable organization created to support youth and their musical careers. This was my fouth consecutive year photographing the Battle of the Bands and I look forward to continuing this special relationship. Many opportunities have come my way as a result Kim Blake, the organizer of Battle of the Bands. 
I am eternally grateful to this special lady for those opportunities.
